The first question, the “who” question is an identity question. But it is a question of many rings. At the periphery the question appears to be about outer circumstance. Race, nationality, genetic heredity, family, belief, gender, class and all of the rest of the things that a person might identify with. In the middle rings it becomes more personal. It’s about the psyche, the assignment of jobs and the fulfilment of life’s potential in its existing form. But at its core it is a question about one’s relationship to oneself and coming into alignment. This question is ultimately not answered in the head but in the heart. This is a love question.
